Seventh College, in partnership with a number of UC San Diego departments and organizations, presents several awards to students and student groups who show commitment to the activities and mission of Seventh College.
Graduating Senior Awards
UCSD Alumni Outstanding Senior - Deadline April 11, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)
Each year the UCSD Alumni Association presents this award to an outstanding senior from each of the University's Undergraduate Colleges for outstanding contribution to the campus community through active involvement with the College and the University.
The student selected for this award will be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College Student
- Graduating Senior
- 3.0 Cumulative GPA
- Exceptional academic achievement
- Outstanding contribution to the campus community through active involvement with the College and the university
- Demonstrated leadership
Continuing & All Student Awards
This award is presented annually by the Oceanids, one of the longest running social and service organizations at UC San Diego. The Oceanids Service and Leadership Award recognizes outstanding service to the UCSD campus community, on either the college or campus-wide level.
The student selected for this award will receive a $1000 cash award and be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College Student
- Junior standing (90-134.9 credits completed)
- Demonstrated service to the campus through significant participation in student governance, student organizations, work on campus advisory boards, etc.
Seventh College Student of the Year (SeVIIe) Award - Deadline April 11, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)
The SeVIIe Award is presented to a student who has made a significant impact to the Seventh College community through creativity and innovation, the development of College traditions, demonstrated dedication and service to Seventh College, and has exemplified what it means to be a Seventh College student leading the charge toward changing our planet.
The student selected for this award will receive an award and be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College Student
- Junior or Senior standing (90+ credits completed)
- Demonstrated impact on the development of Seventh College through innovation, creativity, and service.
Seventh College Spotlight Award - Deadline April 11, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)
The Spotlight Award is presented to a student who has achieved academic excellence and has brought distinction to Seventh College and UC San Diego through leadership, service, civic engagement, and involvement in the campus community.
The student selected for this award will receive an award and be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College Student
- First Year or Sophomore standing (Less than 90 credits completed)
- Demonstrated academic achievement and impact through leadership, service, or civic engagement.
Outstanding Student Leader Award - Deadline April 11, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)
The Outstanding Student Leader Award recognizes students who have taken initiative to positively impact the community, spaces, or social environment of Seventh College through initiatives, actions, or advocacy.
The student selected for this award will receive an award and be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College student
- Demonstrated positive impact to Seventh College through initiatives, actions, or advocacy
Outstanding Service to Seventh College Award - Deadline April 11, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)
The Outstanding Service to Seventh College Award recognizes an individual or group of students who have demonstrated outstanding contributions toward building the Seventh College community and enhancing community engagement in the College motto of a changing planet.
The student(s) selected for this award will receive an award and be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College student, recognized student organization, or be affiliated with a College department.
- Demonstrated impact on the development of Seventh College and engagement with the College motto.
Excellence in Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award - Deadline April 11, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT)
The Excellence in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award recognizes an individual or group of students who has made a positive and significant impact to the Seventh community through impactful justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion work by means of education, programming, class participation, and/or allyship.
The student(s) selected for this award will receive an award and be recognized at the Seventh College Student Leadership Celebration.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Seventh College student, recognized student organization, or be affiliated with a College department.
- Demonstrated impact on the Seventh College community through equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice.

Commencement Student Speaker
Apply to speak at the Seventh College Graduation Ceremony! Remarks should be limited to 5 minutes. A panel of staff will select the student speaker. Students must be in good academic standing to be considered.
To apply, submit a draft copy of your proposed remarks to seventhcollege@ucsd.edu before April 11th, 2025 at 11:59 PM (PDT). Please be sure to include your name, PID, and a telephone number in your submission email. Applications will be reviewed and candidates may be invited to audition before a panel of staff before final selection is determined.
