Space Cowboy Cosmic Corral
12:30-2:30 PM | Seventh College West Lawn & BBQ Area (behind Seventh West, Tower 1) 

Join us for some summer fun in the sun for this western twist on our space theme! We will have crafting supplies, a photobooth, as well as lawn games, volleyball, Spikeball and a special attraction: a mechanical bull! Space cowboy outfits are encouraged, and sunscreen and other sun protection is a must! Free lunch and drinks will be provided while supplies last, so come early.

UnOlympics Practice
5:00-7:00 PM (PDT) | Seventh College West Lawn (near the Game Room) 

Calling all Seviies! Join us to learn the Seventh College Welcome Week space-themed dance routine as we count down to our second victory in the annual UnOlympics competition. Learn the dance, have some snacks and sign up to participate in the field games at the 9/27 competition! No prior dance experience needed! This is a fun way to meet others, get involved, and help represent Seventh College.

Intergalactic Game Night
7:30-9:30 PM | Seventh College West Lawn & BBQ Area (behind Seventh West, Tower 1) 

When the sun goes down, the real fun begins! Join us for a glow-in-the-dark evening full of LED games, such as cornhole, giant chess, and doubleshot basketball! We will also be hosting our first annual Super Smash Bros tournament, so come early to sign up as spots are limited! Whether you want to enter the tournament, enjoy as a spectator, or just enjoy some nighttime games with friends, you don't want to miss this! Refreshments will be provided.

Seventh Transfer & Commuter Breakfast

Join fellow Transfer and Commuter Seviies for a free breakfast, resources, and a "Rocket" paper airplane competition! You can also get your polaroid taken to remember your first week here at US San Diego. Food and beverages will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Seventh Involvement & Resource Fair

Launch your academic year by getting connected to our growing community of student organizations and learn about upcoming events, important resources, and student involvement opportunities. It's never too early to become an involved Seviie! We will have games & contests, giveaways, prize drawings, and free food.

"Space Walk" over to convocation with the Seventh College Orientation Leaders!  They will help you navigate to the Seventh College section to fully experience this academic milestone.

As the inaugural academic event of the year, the 2023 New Student Welcome Convocation marks your formal entrance into the UC San Diego academic community. Hear from the Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor, as well as your Associated Students president to celebrate the start of your academic journey.

This event is open to all first-year undergraduate students, transfer students, and incoming graduate students.

 UnOlympics Rally & Spirit March

Calling all Seviies!  Join us for our final practice as we blast off to another victory in the annual UnOlympics competition.  No prior dance experience needed!  This is a fun way to meet others, get involved, and help represent Seventh College. At 12:45 PM we will begin our Spirit March to UnOlympics as Seventh College prepares to bring home the coveted Golden Shoe trophy.

Be sure to wear you Welcome Week T-shirt or join us to pick up your shirt for the competition.

UnOlympics Competition & Triton Mania

Started in 1979, the annual UnOlympics competition is one of the longest running traditions at UC San Diego. UnOlympics is a fun and friendly competition in which the UC San Diego Undergraduate Colleges compete for the coveted Golden Shoe trophy. At UnOlympics, teams earn points for field games and a Welcome Week themed dance routine. This year's event is bigger than ever as we combine UnOlympics with Triton Mania. Meet our mascot King Triton, the UC San Diego cheerleaders, dance team and Triton scholar-athletes.

This event is open to all students and hosted by UC San Diego Recreation.

All College New Transfer Social

Join your Undergraduate Colleges, the Triton Transfer Hub, and The Village at Pepper Canyon for our annual first day of class All College New Transfer Social! Meet staff from across campus who support the transfer student experience, connect with other new transfer students, and enjoy delicious carnival style food while you play BINGO to win some great prizes. Free planners for those who attend.

This event is open to new transfer students and hosted by the Undergraduate Colleges, Triton Transfer Hub and The Village at Pepper Canyon.  Bring your student ID to check in.

UC San Diego First-Gen Welcome Social

Join a community of first-gen students, grads, staff, faculty and supporters to kick off the academic year with a BBQ, social, swag giveaways and networking opportunities. BBQ (vegetarian option and burgers) along with sides. Food is first-come, first-served, (while supplies last).

Seventh College Movie Night

Join us for an outdoor movie screening in the Seventh College Residential Area.  Grab a blanket or lawn chair and your friends and roommates! We will provide light refreshments including popcorn, beverages, and other movie snacks; blankets and chairs will also be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This event is hosted by Seventh College Residence Life for Seventh College residents, but all UC San Diego undergraduates are welcome to attend. Bring your student ID to check in.

First Friday

Win prizes and get to know YOUR student union! Pick up a game card at the Price Center and visit booths around Price Center to collect punches and prizes.  All student participants have a chance to win an iPad, gift cards, and more!

Space Crafts
3:00-5:00 PM | Seventh College Garden, Seventh College West Lawn

Join your Seventh College Orientation Leaders and members of Photosynthesis for an afternoon of space crafts in the Seventh College Garden.  Paint "moon" rocks to decorate the garden space or visit our space stations to make crafts to keep and share.  Learn more about the garden and how to get involved in the Photosynthesis student organization.

Meet The Beach

Wristbands available on a first-come, first-served basis.

UC San Diego Recreation hosts the 15th Annual Meet the Beach, a giant beach party for first year undergraduate, grad & transfer students at the end of Welcome Week. Join us for surf lessons, beach Zumba, the world famous surfing dogs, photo booth, beach volleyball & soccer, live DJ, food, giveaways, and more! 

This event is open to all students and hosted by UC San Diego Recreation. Advance registration is required and will be verified via wristband.
