Celebrate becoming a Triton by attending Floatopia, Recreation's annual pool party! Enjoy lounging on giant pool floaties, relaxing in our indoor pool, or in the spa, and visit our table to learn more about Recreation programs and activities. Hey Seviies! Join us for our final practice as we make our move toward another victory in the annual UnOlympics competition. Whether you are busting moves, playing hard, or hyping up the crowd, this is your chance to get in on the action, meet new people, and show off your Seventh College pride! No dance experience? At noon, we’ll kick off our Spirit March to UnOlympics, rallying together to reclaim the legendary Golden Shoe trophy. Let’s bring that energy and make it a win! Be sure to wear your Welcome Week T-shirt or join us at the rally to pick up your shirt for the competition

Triton UnOlympics Competition*
12:30-2:30 PM (PDT) |LionTree Arena

Since 1979, UnOlympics has been the ultimate tradition at UC San Diego—an epic showdown of friendly competition that’s been rocking our campus for decades! Hosted by Recreation and Athletics, this “games of games” brings together all the UCSD Undergraduate Colleges, each vying for the legendary Golden Shoe trophy.

Teams rack up points for everything from wild field games and trivia to nailing a College chant and crushing a Welcome Week dance routine. Plus, you get to meet our mascot, King Triton, the UC San Diego cheerleaders, dance team, and Triton scholar-athletes. It’s the most fun (and competitive) day of the year!

This event is open to all students and hosted by UC San Diego Recreation. No backpacks are allowed, with the exception of diaper and medical bags per venue policy.

Meet The Beach Wristband Pickup*

Planing to hit the beach on Saturday? Don't forget your wristband! Wristbands are required to ride SD Charter shuttles to SIO, receive a towel and lunch, and partake in sponsored activities. Wristbands are on a first-come, first-served basis — while supplies last.

To pick up your wristband, check in at our distribution site with your student ID with you. We will scan your ID, and upon confirmation, place a wristband on you. Wristbands are only valid for one per individual and cannot be replaced if broken or altered.

Wristbands are for first-year graduate, graduate, and transfer students only. (Extension students are not eligible to receive a wristband.) Meet The Beach is hosted by UC San Diego Recreation.

Meet The Beach*

Wristbands available on a first-come, first-served basis.

UC San Diego Recreation hosts the 17th Annual Meet the Beach, a giant beach party for first year and transfer undergraduate students and grad students at the end of Welcome Week. Students get a chance to explore Scripps Beach while enjoying free swag and lunch (while supplies last), surf lessons, kayak tours, Scripps pier tours, aerial silks, rent boogie boards, participate in our muscle beach and bust a move at our Beach Dance Party. Students can also lounge on the shore, take photos at our photo booth or snap photos of everyone's favorite, surf dogs.

This event is open to incoming students and hosted by UC San Diego Recreation. Advance registration is required and will be verified via wristband. Wristbands are required to ride SD Charter shuttles to SIO, receive a towel and lunch, and to partake in sponsored activities. Wristbands are on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
