As part of the Triton Weeks of Welcome (TWOW), Welcome Week is an annual UC San Diego tradition, fostering the Triton Spirit for both new and returning students. Held during the first week of the Fall Quarter (Week 0), Seventh College and campus-wide departments host exciting and informative events to welcome all Tritons to the new academic year.

Since 1979, UnOlympics has been the ultimate tradition at UC San Diego—an epic showdown of friendly competition hosted by Recreation and Athletics. This “game of games” brings together all the UCSD Undergraduate Colleges, each vying for the legendary Golden Shoe trophy. Colleges rack up points for everything from games and trivia to nailing a College chant. Plus, you get to meet our mascot, King Triton, the UC San Diego cheerleaders, dance team, and Triton scholar-athletes!
This event is open to all students and hosted by UC San Diego Recreation. No backpacks are allowed, with the exception of diaper and medical bags per venue policy.

Meet The Beach*
10:00 AM-3:00 PM | Scripps Beach
UC San Diego Recreation hosts the 18th Annual Meet the Beach, a giant beach party for first year and transfer undergraduate students and grad students at the end of Welcome Week. Students get a chance to explore Scripps Beach while enjoying free swag and lunch (while supplies last), surf lessons, kayak tours, Scripps pier tours, aerial silks, rent boogie boards, participate in our muscle beach and bust a move at our Beach Dance Party. Students can also lounge on the shore, take photos at our photo booth or snap photos of everyone's favorite surf dogs.
This event is hosted by UC San Diego Recreation. Advance registration is required and will be verified via wristband. Wristbands are required to ride shuttles to SIO, receive giveaways and lunch, and to partake in sponsored activities. Wristbands are on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
For general information or to request reasonable accommodations for events sponsored by Seventh College, contact Seventh College Student Affairs via email within 72 business hours prior to the date of the event. All events are wheelchair accessible, unless otherwise noted. Events listed as being on a "lawn" may be held on grassy areas with sidewalk access adjacent.
