Transfer Orientation Information

Students sitting in groups with their Orientation Leader at Seventh College Orientation.

Seventh College Orientation for Transfers is designed in acknowledgement of your previous experience(s) with higher education. The program will primarily focus on unique aspects of UC San Diego and Seventh College, transfer-specific phenomena, and how you can leverage what you learned at your previous institution(s) to be successful at UCSD.

Seventh College Orientation Experience

All new Seventh College students are required to participate in a two-part* College orientation experience.

Part I: Enrollment & Academic Planning Webinar

Offered in early August, this mandatory webinar will be Part I of your Seventh College Orientation experience. Seventh College Academic Advisors will provide information on how to prepare for Fall Quarter booking and answer your academic questions. A student panel will also be available to share advice on how to approach your first quarter at UC San Diego.

Orientation Canvas Modules

This supplemental resource includes important information about Seventh College and UC San Diego. It also recaps Orientation Part I and prepares you for Part II of your Orientation Experience, all while familiarizing you with UCSD’s learning management system. You can access the course at canvas.ucsd.edu beginning August 3.

Part II: Cultivating Connections In-Person Program

This mandatory in-person program aims to introduce you to campus and set you up for success both inside and outside the classroom. Much of the program will be facilitated in small groups led by a Seventh College Orientation Leader. The Transfer program will be offered on September 18th and 22nd.
