Orientation is designed specifically to assist incoming students in learning about the resources available to them, connecting them with other new students, and smoothing the transition into Seventh College and UC San Diego.

Seventh College Orientation Experience

New Seventh College students are required to participate in a three-part college orientation experience.

Part I: Enrollment & Academic Planning Webinar

In early August, Seventh College Academic Advisors will provide information on how to prepare for Fall Quarter enrollment and answer your academic questions. A student panel will also be available to share advice on how to approach your first quarter at UC San Diego.

Part II: Canvas Modules

Asynchronous orientation modules through Canvas, UC San Diego’s learning management system, will be assigned on September 5, 2023. Modules will include basic information about Seventh College and UC San Diego as well as prepare you for Part III of your Orientation Experience.

Part III: In-Person Program

The in-person orientation program is designed to orient you to campus and provide an opportunity for engagement in campus life. Throughout the program, small group sessions will be facilitated by a Seventh College Orientation Leader. First-Year in-person programs will be offered on September 20, 21, 22, and 24.
