Orientation is designed specifically to assist incoming students in learning about the resources available to them, connecting them with other new students, and smoothing the transition into Seventh College and UC San Diego.
New Seventh College students are required to participate in a three-part college orientation experience.
Asynchronous orientation modules through Canvas, UC San Diego’s learning management system, will be assigned on September 5, 2023. Modules will include basic information about Seventh College and UC San Diego as well as prepare you for Part III of your Orientation Experience.
The in-person orientation program is designed to orient you to campus and provide an opportunity for engagement in campus life. Throughout the program, small group sessions will be facilitated by a Seventh College Orientation Leader. First-Year in-person programs will be offered on September 20, 21, 22, and 24.
If you are a new International Student, additional programs may be required. iOrientation is designed to help orient you to the UC San Diego campus community, inform you of your F1/J1 rights & responsibilities, and give you an opportunity to connect with other new international students.
Separate from the mandatory college orientations, this family orientation weekend delivers tailored programming for Black, Latinx, and Native American students and their families.
Learn to thrive on campus and in the backcountry through Outback Adventure's Wilderness Orientation (WO). This supplemental orientation program will help you learn life skills, make lasting friendships, and unplug before starting school at UCSD.
