Seventh College Residence Life has worked hard to create opportinitues to be more sustainable during move out. Please see the resourses below for tips on moving out with out Changing Planet in mind!
Seventh College Residence Life has donation bins that go towards the Veterans Thrift Store. During Move Out, we have three locations throughout Seventh College in front of West Tower, in front of East Building 3, and our permanent one in front of West Building 3. Fun fact: The Veterans Thrift Store donation bins also accept E-Waste.
Please consider donating items to the Veterans Thrift Store donation bins that are located at Seventh College. They will take furniture, clothes, household items and electronics. Acceptable Donations:
Below are the items that ARE NOT ACCEPTED:
Seventh College has a compost bin located to the right North Break in Seventh West Building 3 (near the trash compactors). The code for the compost bin is 2019, please consult the waste sorting guide to prevent any cross contamination. This is separate from the garden composting program and therefore has different composting limitations.
We have an ample amount of trash and recycling dumpsters throughout Seventh College. Please use the waste sorting guide to recycle as best you can.
Visit our Seventh College Residence Life Front Desk to see any additional opportunities for moving out sustainably.
Large walk in dumpsters will be available between June 5 and June 20 in front of East Building 2. We encourage you to use these, especially for large items. For West and East Tower the trash chutes will be CLOSED during finals week.
Starting June 7 until June 14, large donations such as furniture can be donated to the Veterans Thrift Store by placing them in the small parking lot in front of the Seventh College Residence Life Office (West building 2). You are welcome to take any items you would like as well. Please submit a Large Item Form response if you are dropping off a large donation item OR picking up a large item. This will help us collect the information we need to keep this project running for years to come! You only need to submit this form once, regardless of how many items you leave or take.
Please keep the sidewalks and pathways clear of items.
Historically, the markets throughout UC San Diego begin accepting non-perishable foods during finals week or the week before. Keep an eye out in the markets for more opportunities!
